Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs)

Ensure the Safety of Your Premises, Meet Your Legal Obligations, and Gain Peace of Mind.

Your Legal Duty for Electrical Safety

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a formal, in-depth assessment of your property’s entire electrical system—often described as an “MOT for the wiring”. Under UK law, including the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, all business owners, landlords, and managers have a legal responsibility to ensure their electrical installations are maintained in a safe condition. An EICR is the officially recognised process for verifying this, providing a crucial record for both legal compliance and insurance purposes. At Northwest Contractors, we provide certified EICR services for all commercial properties across North Wales, Cheshire, and the West Midlands.

Our EICR Service Includes:

Our comprehensive EICR service provides a thorough inspection and testing process to assess the safety of your electrical installation:
Visual Inspection

A detailed visual check of all accessible electrical components, including distribution boards, sockets, switches, and lighting, to identify any visible signs of damage, wear, or non-compliance.

Our engineers conduct a series of rigorous tests on the wiring and circuits to identify hidden dangers, such as inadequate earthing or bonding, insulation deterioration, and overloaded circuits.

We meticulously identify and classify any deviations from the current BS 7671 wiring regulations using the standard codes: C1 (Danger Present), C2 (Potentially Dangerous), and C3 (Improvement Recommended).

Upon completion, you will receive a formal, multi-page EICR certificate detailing all observations, test results, and a final summary of the installation’s condition (either ‘Satisfactory’ or ‘Unsatisfactory’).

If any C1, C2, or FI (Further Investigation) codes are recorded, we will provide a clear, no-obligation quotation detailing the necessary remedial work required to achieve compliance.

We understand the need to minimise business interruption. We offer flexible scheduling, including out-of-hours and weekend appointments, to carry out the inspection with minimal disruption.
